Socialized Medicine By Next Week

Think the public option is dead? That there’s no way the House or Senate have the votes to get it passed? Think again.

This is a long read but worth it.

In short, the democrats don’t care that you don’t want socialized health care. They don’t care how much additional debt this would incur or the damage it would do to the economy. They are determined to control every facet of your life and it doesn’t matter what you think about it.

If you care enough to stand up, call and write your congresspeople to let them know how you feel.

Can someone explain to me what Mrs. Soetoro is talking about?

Is the plan championed by her babies’ daddy going to have the state scheduling kids’ appointments and sending a bus to take them to the doctor’s office?

Furthermore, most women working part time are going to be covered by their spouse’s insurance. Moms who are full-time employees usually have their own health insurance. Of course most women work for small businesses, because most people work for small businesses, regardless of gender.

The Obama theme song.

A Textbook Example

Obama is a charlatan of the first order. Take, for example, this article.

He says that repubs are trying to block his socialized health care bill for political purposes, not bothering to mention the 200,00-plus that march on D.C. this past weekend to protest this attempted gov’t takeover.

He says he wants to reduce the deficit with this bill but his own Congressional Budget Office says the bill would increase the deficit.

He says he wants to provide choice and competition but the public option would destroy private insurance firms, leaving people with no choice in their health care.

He says he has a stake in getting health care reform right (since he wants to be re-elected) but doesn’t mention the fact that the bill wouldn’t really start to kick in until after 2012.

Same malarkey, different day.

911

So here we are, eight years after Muslim terrorists killed 3,000 U.S. citizens on American soil.

I remember what I was doing that morning, as am sure most of us do. I was on my way to work, late as usual, sitting at a stoplight with the radio on, when I heard that an airplane had crashed into one of the towers. There was talk initially about a possible attack but I wrote it off as some kind of accident. When the second plane hit and then the Pentagon was struck, there was no doubt as to what was going on.

There were some service calls I had to take care of in Broken Arrow that day. I drove past the service stations with lines of cars at the pumps and prices around $5 – $7 a gallon. It was a gorgeous day with blue skies and white fluffy clouds. I did my work and drove back home, thinking how strange it was that, for the first time in decades, there were no planes in the sky except for a few military jets.

The country was united behind our president at first. The Taliban refused to hand over people involved in the attack, so we took over Afghanistan and installed a Middle East version of democracy in the process. Saddam was playing games with the U.N. about his WMDs, so we acted upon an existing U.N. security resolution and deposed him.

It didn’t take long for the leftists and socialists among the democrats to politicize the war. As casualties mounted, the war in Iraq was labeled a war for oil. Slogans like “Bush lied, people died” appeared on bumper stickers. The truth became subservient to the needs of liberal politicians.

I remember seeing a news magazine in the racks, I believe it was Time, with a close-up of a woman in a niqab staring into the camera. The headline was “Why Do They Hate Us?” I was angry. What kind of question was this? Thousands dead at the hands of Muslim terrrorists and we are supposed to look deeply into our souls to see what the mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons who died on 911 should have done differently to change the minds of a bunch of murderers, blinded by faith in their religion? What a load of b.s.

There were apologists who essentially said the America was evil and had it coming all along. People like Ward Churchill, who called the victims of 911 “little Eichmanns,” comparing them to the Nazi officer who faithfully carried out his orders to exterminate millions of Jews. Holier-than-thou leftists like Churchill need to have the courage of their convictions so they can walk up to the parents who lost their children on 911 and tell them that America had it coming.

Van Jones, the communist who Obama chose to be his green jobs czar, held a vigil for the victims of 911 the following day. The vigil was also to mark his solidarity with the victims of American imperialism worldwide. The United States is a tyrant, you see, and in the words of Obama’s pastor Jeremiah Wright, its chickens had come home to roost.

When the war in Iraq really was over, at least so far as anyone could tell, the newspapers didn’t tell us about it. The traditional media outlets were silent. The war that democrat senator Harry Reid said was lost, had been won. Bush’s surge (so long in coming) worked.

And where are we now? Obama has a special prosecutor investigating those who helped keep us safe for the last eight years. It seems our president can seldom venture overseas without apologizing for America’s superpower status in the world. The man cheapened 911 today by asking for what is essentially a community work day on behalf of those killed in the attacks. Americans come together in times of need, not when some community organizer, full of hubris and false ideals, issues a dictate.

On this 9-11, what we need most of all is a little hope. And never to forget.

Ban Van

I’m thinking I need to retract my earlier assessment of Van Jones being a skilled liar. He just knows how to give speeches that play to his audience. Scroll down to the video here.

Let me see if I understand this. The Bush bunch used the American flag to lynch anti-war protesters but if you stand up and say you want to make your own health care choices you’re a mindless stooge of Fox News? Bush enshrined torture but it’s okay that Obama has kept the policy of rendition? It’s alright for Jones to compare Bush to a junkie licking a crack pipe but we can’t talk about Obama’s Muslim upbringing?

If Obama had any sense, he would kick this joker to the curb, but, since he is still championing the loser issue of health care “reform,” I’m thinking he will let his hubris rule the day – as usual.

The Wave

With Obama having already stated his intention to create a mandatory youth service corps, his pending address to grade school students next week gives me pause for concern.

Most of the questions at the link above are perfectly innocuous, an exception being “Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?” Aren’t our officials elected to listen to us? Don’t they serve at our discretion, not the other way around?

And then there’s “Students can record important parts of the speech where the President is asking them to do something. Students might think about: What specific job is he asking me to do? Is he asking anything of anyone else? Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?” What do you want to ask of our children, Mr. President, especially in the absence of their parents?

My fear is that Obama has something like this in mind, minus the happy ending.

Don’t Mind Me, I’m Just a Right-Wing Terrorist

Obama’s promise to “end the politics is division” was proven to be a lie quite some time back. Now we have this.

Organizing for America, Obama’s campaign/grassroots group, refers to those of us who dare to voice disapproval with the One’s agenda of socialized medicine as “Right Wing Domestic Terrorists.” If you have the guts to attend a tea party or speak your peace at a town hall meeting, you’re a member of the “anti-democratic forces of hate.” If you stand up for smaller government and more self-responsibility, then you’re a mindless robot “whipped to a frenzy” by Fox News.

It’s the typical politics of the left: demonize your enemy by attempting to reduce him to an extremist cariacture that can be easily dismissed by the public. What they fail to understand this time around is that, by and large, we ARE the public.

Stick that hope and change in your crack pipe and smoke it.

I’m Running Out of Words

I don’t know how to describe Obama’s latest attacks on the American people without sounding like a genuine headcase, the same kind of right-wing extremist detailed by leftist pundits in the media. The most I can do is go through the facts and let them speak for themselves.

Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s chief of staff, has said that a serious crisis should never go to waste. The White House predicts nearly 100,000 could die of swine flu.

Enemies of the United States have nothing to fear should they be captured by American troops.

The real enemies are within, as the White House deems protesters low level terrorists. Special interrogation squads will be formed, to be controlled by the White House.

The stage is being set for the gov’t to violently suppress civil disobedience and unrest. Obama is desperately trying to keep us in perpetually crisis mode so the thoughtless masses will scream for him to do something. He will be only too happy to oblige.

You Spin Me ‘Round Baby, Baby, Right ‘Round

Yet another load of crap from the media, a little close to home this time around.

The bias is in the reporterette’s failure (intentional or otherwise) to get the real reason behind the protesters showing up. Those of us waving American flags and holding signs decrying Obamacare didn’t show up thinking we were going to some open town hall meeting hosted by the genteel Senator Lincoln. We were protesting the fact that Lincoln has had no town hall meetings in northwest Arkansas this month, most likely because we comprise the most conservative corner of the state. (Can anyone tell me if she has had any open town hall meetings since the Senate has been on break?)

We would love to be “engaged and involved” with the political discussion in a “constructive way,” Ms. Lincoln. You just won’t stand still long enough for us to talk to you. If you believed in the health care/health insurance/insert-focus-group-tested-term-here swill you are peddling, I would think you would want to explain the errors of our ways to us. Your failure to engage speaks volumes.

Hope and change.

I Came, I Saw, I Got Flipped Off

You know, for being the Big Tent Party, some of these democrat types aren’t very open to opposing viewpoints.

I had gathered together with some like-minded souls outside of a fund raiser for Arkansas Senator Blanche Lincoln this afternoon in Bella Vista. As conservatives, we were none too pleased that the esteemed congresswoman saw fit to not hold any town hall meetings this month on the subject of health care.

So, we assembled ourselves along the road to the area where the fund raiser was being held, smiling and waving at people driving in to attend while we held signs expressing our displeasure. There was no profanity on the signs, some had slogans like “Say No to Obamacare” while others expressed our irritation at being blown off by Lincoln. (My own sign (borrowed from a friend) did cause me momentary consternation. I was worried there might be a swastika subliminally embedded in the laminate which would only appear when shown on MSNBC.)

Most people driving past would smile and wave back. Some just drove on, staring straight ahead while others shook their heads as the rolled past us. A lady in the passenger’s side of an SUV took exception to us, rolled down her window, and yelled, “F*** all you people!” I told my companion that I wasn’t feeling the love. A little before that, an older gentleman and his wife (in yet another SUV – where is the environmental concern?) drove by and, just after he passed me, flipped me the bird. Not to be outdone, I blew him a kiss.

One of the more picturesque moments came when a woman stumped by and stated, “I don’t agree with you people, so I’m not talking to you.” Her child followed close behind while her husband, looking sheepish, brought up the rear.

As an interesting side note, there were several people who attended the fund raiser at $5 a head and paid us absolutely no heed when we tried to tell them there was parking closer to the event. The vehicles of the protesters took up both sides of the road for some distance to the police barricade, so there appeared to be less parking than there really was. They trudged past us, determined not to be waylaid by our sneaky conservative ways. Shame on us for trying to save them a walk.

Speaking of people who actually attended the event, scuttlebutt was that there were at least as many protesters as attendees, probably more. I have on good authority that 15 of those who paid to line Lincoln’s re-election coffers were on our side, so I think we won the numbers game.

At any rate, Lincoln got into and out of the event without being seen by any of us lining the street. She may have been whizzed out of this shindig by a car taking a side road around the protesters but how she got in is something of a mystery. She was either lying down in the back of a vehicle, was brought in the back via golf cart, or hiked down a goat trail. Whatever the means of transportation, it was obvious she really didn’t want to hear anything about opposing viewpoints.

You just keep on blowing us off Ms. Lincoln. It will make us work all the harder to get you out of office when your term is up.

Hope and change, baby.
